Layered Lettuce Salad


1 head lettuce, cut in bite-sized pieces

1 cup chopped celery

4 eggs, hard cooked and diced

1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas, uncooked

1/2 cup green pepper, diced

1 onion, chopped

8 slices bacon, cooked and diced

2 cups mayonnaise

2 Tablespoons sugar

4 ounce package cheddar cheese, shredded


Layer the first seven ingredients in a 9X13 inch baking dish. Mix mayonnaise with sugar and spread on top like frosting. Top with shredded cheddar cheese. Cover and refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours or overnight. To serve, garnish with more bacon bits and parsley. Serves 8 to 10.
