Smokehouse Spaghetti
3/4 pound spaghetti
1 medium onion
3 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce plus 2 cans water
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 can (4 ounces) sliced mushrooms
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 pound bacon, cut up
1 pound ground beef
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
Saute bacon in skillet, add onion and ground beef; brown. Stir in tomato sauce, water, salt, pepper, seasonings, and mushrooms (with liquid). Simmer for 15 minutes.
Cook spaghetti; drain. Stir in sauce. Place half of mixture in buttered 2 quart flat baking dish. Top with half of the cheeses. Repeat layers. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
